REWARD

On December 9th, 2004 at 5:23 PM the Manchester Fire Department was notified that a vehicle, parked on the side of the road facing eastbound on Center Street just west of Adams Street, had smoke emanating from its interior passenger compartment.

A subsequent investigation determined that the there was a smoldering fire consisting of papers and clothing on the front floor inside the vehicle. The fire did not ignite but the heat caused substantial damage to the center console and passenger seat of the vehicle. Fire Officials determined this incident to be arson related.

The vehicle had been abandoned by the owner at this location for approximately two weeks, from sometime after Thanksgiving weekend, until the time of the incident.

It was also determined that sometime on December 9th between the hours of 3:30 PM and the time the fire was reported at 5:23 PM, a person or persons entered the vehicle and placed several items on the roof of the car. It is believed that this person or persons are responsible for the fire.

The vehicle was a red 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass, 2 door, and bearing Connecticut registration 608-SXC.

If anyone recalls seeing anyone tampering with this vehicle, photographed below, or has knowledge of this incident please contact Detective Jim Graham at the Manchester Police Department 645-5519.
