Founded in July of 1998, the Manchester Citizens’ Police Academy is a “hands on” sixteen-week program designed to bridge the community and the Police Department. The Manchester Citizens’ Police Academy educates its students about various aspects of police work ranging from daily operations to policies and procedures.
Classes include: Crime Scene Investigations, Radar, Traffic Crash Reconstruction, Child Investigations, Community Resource Unit, Capitol Region Emergency Services Team, Traffic Enforcement, DUI, Communications, Domestic Violence Outreach Team, and more.
Students gain valuable insight into how their police department works and provides services to the community that empowers it.
Classes for the MCPA 18th Session will meet in the Police Department's Community Room on Wednesdays from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM for 16 weeks, starting February 20, 2008 and ending June 4, 2008.
Applicants must be a minimum of eighteen years old at the time the application is submitted.
Applicants must either work or live within the Town of Manchester.
Applications must be turned into the Manchester Police Department Headquarters Building no later than midnight Friday, February 15, 2008.
