The traffic division currently has two members of the division and two civilian engineers who are reconstruction specialist. These individuals have received specialized training in the area of collision investigation and reconstruction. This training allows these personal to thoroughly investigate a collision and determine exactly how a collision occurred. The application of mathematics and physics are an important part of the investigation. Collision reconstruction includes securing the scene, collecting and processing all evidence, completing a detailed written report and taking the appropriate enforcement action. These individuals are often called upon to provide expert testimony in a court of law often years after the initial investigations.
