MPD Motorcycles

The Manchester Police Department was utilizing motorcycles shortly after the turn of the 19th century. The Manchester Police Department used Indian motorcycles until the companies demise in the early 1950s. At that point the Manchester Police Department converted to the Harley Davidson motorcycle. Sometime during the 1980s the Manchester Police Department experimented with the Kawasaki KZ-1000P police motorcycle. These proved to be unreliable for the day-to-day city use and we eventually returned to the Harley Davidson.
