Metro Traffic Services

In 2001 the Manchester Traffic division implemented and joined forces with its neighboring towns to form a new unit known as Metro Traffic Services. This unit's only function is traffic violation enforcement. This unit targets DWI, seatbelt, child safety seats, aggressive drivers and safety inspection checkpoints. This may also include random patrol for traffic violations. On a regular basis the towns that are part of Metro Traffic Services travel to a hosting town and work in conjunction with that towns traffic division. There are currently five municipal police departments that participate in the Metro Traffic Services Program along with the State Of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles and the Connecticut State Police.
